If you are going to be grinding, welding, plasma cutting or do anything that creates sparks or high temperatures, you are doing what is considered hot work (Varme arbeider på Norsk). This means that the work you are doing involves a high risk of potentially starting a fire.

At Fellesverkstedet it’s not required to have a certificate in hot work/varme arbeider to be able to use the facilities. However, this entails that we need to make sure that anybody who uses the equipment related to this type of work is made aware of the potential risks and follows the procedures to reduce any risk involving fire safety.

Before starting and ending the planned work, make sure you go through the lists on the page below to get familiar with the most important things to consider before starting.
